With the aim to do some momentary works for the welfare of the people in India, Sharad Power, one of the noted politicians from the state of Maharastra made a beginning to his political career in 1967 for the first time. Mr. Power born of a financially sound family in 1940 joined in Indian National Congress to fight for the assembly poll in his state. Many times he has been nominated and has won the poll thus fulfilling his ambition for the citizens of the state. Pawar serves a prominent place both in national and state politics in Maharastra for his contributions during his term of chief minister ship in the state and defence minister in the national government. From his entering in to politics Sharad Pawar was contesting in the Congress seat but in 1999 he got split from Indian National Congress over the Sonia Gandhi issue to be the President of INC. In the same year he formed Nationalist Congress party in order to fulfill the desires of his own. In 2004 general poll of the Lok Sabha, Pawar joined Indian National congress as a partner and became the minister for Food and agriculture of the nation. At the same time from 2005 Pawar has been working as the President of Board of Cricket Control in India for the development of the most famous game in India. The chief controversy in Pawar?s life is his involvement in the Multi crore-stamp paper corruption as named by chief accused Abdul Karim Telgi. He has also been accused of involvement in wheat corruption by the opposition BJP.
