Tajikistan News : Tajikistan is a mountainous landlocked country located in Central Asia. It is bordered by Afghanistan from the south, Uzbekistan from the west, Kyrgyzstan from the north and China from the east. Tajikistan also lies adjacent to Pakistan but Wakha Corridor separates the two countries. Tajikistan is the land that was visited by Alexander the Great who founded a city on the site of modern day Khojand. Tajikistan became a sovereign state in 1991 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Tajikistan?s economy relies primarily on commodity production, including cotton, gold, uranium, and natural gas.
