Gambia News: This is the smallest country of Africa located in its west. It is surrounded by Senegal from all sides except an opening to the Atlantic Ocean from the west. In the year 1965, it gained its independence from the United Kingdom and joined the Commonwealth. The lavish beach resorts and lively fishing villages and the safari rides tempts the visitors. Besides this, Gambia has some striking natural reserves such as Tanji and Abuko and historical slave stations of St James Island and Jufureh. It is a paradise for the Ornithologists who can come here for bird watching. The mangrove lined wetlands and the soaking atmosphere of the island of Georgetown appeals to the nature lovers.
