New Delhi, April 16 (IANS) More than 500 people pelted stones and ransacked a police station in the capital Thursday after the police failed to arrest those suspected in the murder of a 24-year-old man.

'About 500 people pelted bricks and damaged vehicles in Bhajanpura police station demanding arrest of suspects in Kallu murder case,' Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) S.S. Yadav said.

They were demanding immediate arrest of the murder suspects of Mohammad Arif alias Kallu, a resident of Bhajanpura. Kallu was beaten to death Saturday in Khajuri Khas area of notheast Delhi.

Police later resorted to a baton-charge to disperse the mob that raised slogans against Delhi Police and blocked the traffic in the area.

'Police are trying to save the culprits behind the murder and even after five days of the murder no one has been arrested,' a protester said.
