Rain, thunderstorms pose threat to wheat crop
Chandigarh, April 6 (IANS) Rainfall accompanied by strong thunderstorms lashed Chandigarh and the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana Monday evening.
The thunderstorms and high velocity winds have become a cause of worry for farmers in the region as the wheat crop is almost ripe.
'Thunderstorms at this stage could certainly cause extensive damage to the wheat crop.

The grain may also lose its usual lustre,' said a met department official.
