Denied money to buy liquor, man commits suicide

Noida, March 31 (IANS) A 20-year-old man has allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling of his tea stall here after his wife refused to give him money to buy liquor, the police said Tueday.

 

Babloo Haldar's body was found hanging by a rope from the beam of the shop in Sector-10 of this Uttar Pradesh town on the border with the national capital.

 

 

The victim's wife, who lives in a slum cluster of Sector-9, told the police that Monday night Babloo asked for money to buy liquor but she refused.

 

 

Angered over the refusal, he went back to the tea stall and hanged himself to death, the police.

 

 

'We have sent the body for autopsy,' said Amit Kumar, a police sub-inspector in Sector-39.
