Hindu outfit comes out in support of Varun

Lucknow, March 23 (IANS) As the controversy over Varun Gandhi's alleged anti-Muslim speech rages, the Dharma Raksha Manch (DRM), an off shoot of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Monday come out in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate.

'We hail Varun for raising the flag of Hinduism. We are proud of him ,' Gyan Das, DRM national convenor, told reporters at a press conference held at the VHP office.

'Our blessings are with Varun, whom we will always support. He will definitely emerge victorious,' said Das.

Das said the DRM won't campaign for the BJP candidate from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh but 'we will always be there for his support'.

Das flayed the politicians demanding action against Varun for his inflammatory speech. 'Our country needs Varun and leaders like him who respect the feeling of millions of Hindus in the country.'
