Richardson doesn't regret rejecting 'Fatal Attraction' role

London, March 12 (IANS) British actress Miranda Richardson has no regrets about having turned down the lead role in 'Fatal Attraction' in 1987 because she thought the movie about a psychotic mistress was 'hideous'.

Richardson was offered the role co-starring Michael Douglas but she turned it down after reading the script. The role eventually went to Glenn Close and made her very famous. But Richardson claims she would not have taken it up even for the fame, reports contactmusic.com reports.

'If I don't believe in a role, I can't pull it off. There would have been people who wondered why on earth I would not do that role, but I felt so strongly that it was demonising women. I thought it was hideous and I didn't want to have anything to do with it,' said Richardson.
