Myanmarese exiles demand release 34 men arrested 11 years ago

New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Myanmarese exiles living in India demanded the release of 34 'freedom fighters' arrested 11 years ago in the Andamans.

 

The exiles, under the banner Burmese Democratic Forces in India (BDFI), took out a demonstration here on Wednesday to press their demand.

 

"We are appealing the Government of India for the release of those people because they are just freedom fighters for Burma. They have nothing to do with arms smuggling or harming the Indians," said Tint Swe, a member of BDFI.he exiles held placards reading 'Free Aung San Suu Kyi' and 'We want Justice and Freedom'.

 

All the 34 Myanmarese people are lodged in the Presidency Jail in Kolkata. (ANI)
