Bihar minister faces wrath of angry villagers

Patna, Jan 23 (IANS) Villagers, angry over being denied a meeting with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, attacked a Bihar minister Friday who escaped unhurt but his six security guards suffered injuries, the police said.

 

Minister of State Mines and Geology Ram Chandra Sahni was attacked by the angry villagers at Madhuban in East Champaran district.

 

 

The villagers were earlier denied a meeting with the chief minister, who is currently visiting villages in the district for his 'Vikas Yatra' (journey for development).

 

 

Sahni escaped unhurt and was escorted to a safe place, said the police.
