Islamabad, Jan.23 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani's Advisor on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik has said there are still 12 days left to meet the Indian ultimatum, on the Mumbai terror attacks.
"The investigation is progressing and soon a final report would be dispatched to India. However, 12 days are remaining in the Indian ultimatum to Pakistan," The Nation quoted, Malik, as saying.
He said that the security agencies have arrested seven militants, including two high-value targets from Peshawar during the probe.
Addressing a Passing out Parade of ASP's at the National Police Academy here, Malik stressed on the need for improving the policing system in Pakistan.
"Measures are being taken to provide more sophisticated weapons and equipments including bullet proof jackets to police officials across the country as well as to remove the weaknesses in this department," he said.
He also lauded the efforts of the Pakistan police in maintaining law and order in the country during difficult circumstances.
"The country is facing challenges like terrorism and extremism and the police have played a tremendous role during the troubled times," Malik said.
Meanwhile, intelligence agencies in Pakistan have interrogated senior Saudi Al-Qaeda leader Zabiul Taifi.
Taifi is suspected of plotting the July 2005 London attacks in which 52 people were killed.
He was arrested with six other Afghan and Pakistani suspects in a joint Pakistani-CIA raid on Wednesday (21 January) in the outskirts of Peshawar. (ANI)
