Three killed as air force planes collide in Spain

Madrid, Jan 21 (IANS) Three Spanish Air Force officers have been killed as two combat planes collided during a routine training maneuver in the central province of Albacete, according to the defence ministry.

 

Two of the victims were on board one of the Mirage F-1 fighter planes, while the other aircraft was manned by a single pilot, EFE news agency reported.

 

 

The bodies of the victims were found in the locality of Osa de Montiel.

 

 

Defence Minister Carme Chacon rushed to the scene of the accident to oversee the investigation.
