London, July 6 (ANI): Actress Meryl Streep gives credit to her daughter for bagging the 'Mama Mia' role.

The 59-year-old actress credits her youngest daughter, Louisa, for transforming her into an all-singing 'Dancing Queen' in Mamma Mia.

Streep revealed that seven years ago she had taken her "six screaming 11-year-olds" to see the Broadway version of the musical for Louisa's birthday.

"I thought it would be fun for them," The Daily Record quoted her, as saying.

She admitted that she enjoyed herself so much, she wrote the cast a fan letter, which went to show founder Phyllida Lloyd, writer Catherine Johnson and producer Judy Craymer.

So when they decided to make for the silver screen they asked Streep if she was interested.

"They called and said, 'You probably won't be interested but we'd love you to do this.'

"I said, 'Are you crazy? I would love to do this.' It was a done deal," she added. (ANI)
