Japanese workers smash plates against wall to ease recession blues!

London, Tue, 23 Dec 2008 ANI

London, Dec 23 (ANI): With the recession taking its toll on Japanese workers, an unconventional form of anti-stress therapy is gaining popularity in the country - smashing plates against a wall.

Workers, suffering from recession blues, are flocking to The Venting Place in Tokyo where they pay to hurl crockery against a concrete wall.

"To break something, as all of us know from experience, is something extremely exhilarating and it helps bring down pent-up anger. We hope to become the new way businessmen and women relieve their stress," the Telegraph quoted Katsuya Hara, who leads a team of chiropractors operating the therapy, as saying. Stressed visitors choose the crockery they would like to destroy, ranging from 200 yen (1.40 pounds) for a small cup to 1,000 yen (7.40 pounds) for a larger plate-smashing dish.

After wearing protective clothing, they are then taken to the inside of a van, where they are able to hurl their crockery of choice, and swear, at concrete slabs. (ANI)
