Punjab police arrest 13 illegal bookies during India-England cricket test
Patiala, Dec 21 (ANI): The Punjab Police have arrested 13 illegal bookies here for betting on the second cricket test between India and England.
The bookies were arrested on Saturday during a raid at three residences in Patiala.
"Among the 13 people arrested, Satpal is supposedly the kingpin. All the 13 arrested belong to Bhatinda and Hanumangarh," said SK Asthana, superintendent of police, Patiala.

Three spare recording sets, three laptops and 430,000 rupees were recovered during the raid.
The police added that the accused were in touch with other bookies in Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
One of the accused said that the racket was based in Bhatinda.
"It has been 15-20 days since I have been involved in this. Our network is in Bhatinda," said Rajpal, an accused.
The police registered a case against the arrested men under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Gambling Act.
Bookmaking is banned in India for any sport except horseracing under the Indian Penal Code. (ANI)
