Pregnant woman jumps to death in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 10 (IANS) A 19-year-old woman who was three months pregnant committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of her house in southwest Delhi Wednesday, the police said.

Jyoti, who had married 20-year-old Bharat Singh against the wishes of both their families six months ago, killed herself around 2.30 a.m. at Palam.

She was taken to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where she was declared brought dead. No suicide note was recovered.

Her husband, who runs a bicycle shop, belonged to a different caste, because of which their parents were opposed to the wedding. However, they accepted the marriage later.
