First edition Harry Potter books fetch 17,800 pounds

London, July 2 (ANI): A set of first edition Harry Potter books were sold for 17,800 pounds when they went under the hammer in Berkshire.
Published by Bloomsbury, the set of seven hardbacks were sold at Cameo Fine Art Auctioneers in Midgham on July 1, reports BBC
Each illustrated cover has been signed by the author JK Rowling without a dedication.

A representative for the auction house said the figure did not include the buyer's premium - an extra 15 percent plus VAT.
Last month, Rowling's 800-word Harry Potter prequel fetched 25,000 pounds at an auction to raise money for charity. (ANI)
