Posting against Sonia sends Nitin behind bars

The cyber cell of Pune arrested one more person on Saturday for allegedly posting an obscene and derogatory text matter for Sonia Gandhi on the social networking website Orkut. The accused is identified as Nitin Chakravarthi Suresh Sahha (22), a resident of Sharan apartment, Begum Peth in Hyderabad. Earlier, an IT professional Rahul Ved (22) from Gurgaon, Haryana was arrested by the police on May 17 in a similar case.

Nitin was taken on arrest after a congress activist Amol Bhokare (28) of Pune lodged a complaint with the Deccan Gymkhana police after reading the message on December, 2007.

Nitin had posted an ill-famed and deprecating message on the website in a community named 'I Hate Sonia Gandhi' by using his personal e-mail address.

Police inquired Google and after it acquired the e-mail and postal address of Nitin, he was ripped off by the collar from his residence by a team of police. Nitin confessed that he posted the offensive message.

A number of such communities are present on these social networking sites. The question thus arising is: If such a community exists in the web world, for how long one would hold back his hand? To restrict the posting of such messages is difficult. In spite of that, the community itself should be erased as there are chances of such cases happening again.
