MTV awards are fixed: Kanye West

London, Nov 13 (IANS) Rapper Kanye West says MTV awards are fixed. He was upset with the choice of winners at the shows in the US and Britain this year.

Thesun.co.uk reports that Kanye also said he won the Ultimate Urban award at the European MTV awards recently held in Liverpool only because he showed up. West was speaking at the launch of his new album '808s & Heartbreak' in London.

He said: 'Britney Spears over Rihanna? Are you serious? I mean f****** Jared Leto? He's my boy but he shouldn't have won over some of those other artistes. I won nothing last year and I'd brought out 'Stronger'. Then this year, just because I was there, I won best urban act. This was Lil Wayne's year.'

Spears had won the big awards on both sides of the Atlantic.
