Bhubaneswar, Nov 8 (IANS) The winter session of the Orissa assembly will begin Nov 26, an official statement said Saturday.
The assembly will sit for 27 days and conclude Dec 31, according to a notification from by the state parliamentary affairs department.
The killing of a Hindu leader and four of his aides in the tribal-dominated district of Kandhamal and the communal violence that followed is likely to dominate the session, Binod Patra, a senior Congress leader, told IANS.
At least 38 people were killed and over 23,000 Christians were forced to flee their homes in Kandhamal. More than 10,000 people are still living in government-run relief camps in the district.
