Islamabad, Jan 13 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has cut short his Dubai visit and returned back to Islamabad.
The News quoted Presidency spokesman, Farhatullah Babar, as saying that Zardari had reached Pakistan after finishing his private business in Duabi.
Earlier, Zardari had left for Dubai on a scheduled one-day trip on Thursday amid growing tension over the Memo Gate scandal, where US help was allegedly sought in avoiding a probable military coup.
Foreign media had earlier quoted Gulf-based sources, as saying that Zardari would make the trip for a medical check-up.
"This trip will be for a follow-up medical check-up and then he'll be returning right away," another source said.
However, other reports suggested that the president went to Dubai to attend a wedding. (ANI)
