Fine batting display by Sumit Rana (76) and V Kumar (70) and equally good bowling performance by S Verma (4/53) and N Singh (3/51) aided Vidya Jain Academy to beat Malviya Club by seven wickets to win the Goswami Girdhari Lal memorial cricket tournament. Agnesh Surya and Neeraj Chawla were rewarded as the best batsman and bowler of the tournament respectively.

Delhi posts successive win

Delhi under-14 football team continued their good run as they defeated Haryana 3-0 to register their successive win in the All India Football Federation (AIFF) under-14 football festival in Goa.

In their final group league match against Haryana, Delhi’s Skipper Kislay Singh Sajwan opened the team’s account as early in the fifth minute of the game. Michael Chongthu doubled the lead two minutes later while Real Singh piled up further misery in Haryana’s camp by slotting the third goal in the 15th minute.

Sanjeev Chatwal's fine knock of 89 helped Trinidad & Tobago High Commission beat UNICEF by 136 runs in the league match of the eighth Commonwealth Rams Relationship tournament.
