London, Jan 9 (ANI): Nancy Dell'Olio is reportedly trying to convince BBC executives to take her as a judge on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The girlfriend of Sven-Goran Eriksson, former manager of the England national football team, is said to have embarked on a concerted "wooing" mission for the 300,000- pound-a-year job following Alesha Dixon's defection to ITV's rival 'Britain's Got Talent'.
But sources say 'Waterloo Road' actress Chelsee Healey has already been informally approached for the job.
Undeterred, Nancy has reportedly sent Strictly's exec producer Moira Ross champagne and invited her out for lunch upon her return from holiday.
"BBC bosses have a shortlist of about eight names and Chelsee is one of them. She would do really well with younger viewers and help bring in a new demographic," sources told the Mirror.
"As a successful past contestant - like Alesha was - Chelsee will understand exactly what the celebs are going through and bring with her that empathy.
"Bosses have already sounded Chelsee out but Nancy has her heart set on the role. She was one of the main reasons the last series had such fantastic ratings.
"She believes people stopped watching when she was booted off and thinks her sense of fun and unique personality are just what Strictly Come Dancing needs.
"Nancy has invited Moira for lunch at The Ivy in London - her favourite haunt - in an effort to convince producers she is the one they want," the source added. (ANI)
