Dalhousie has fresh snowfall

Dalhousie, Jan 5 (ANI): Fresh snow in Dalhousie town of Himachal Pradesh brought cheer to tourists and locals alike on Thursday.

For tourists, coming in from low-lying regions of the country, the hilly state is a picturesque winter holiday destination.

Rimi, a tourist from Meerut, said she was elated to see the snowfall.

"We have come here from Meerut city to see the snow. To our surprise, we got to see the snowfall as soon as we reached here. The hills are covered with snow. When I go back, I am going to tell everyone that Dalhousie has its own charm when it snows," she said.

For some tourists this was the first time they experienced snow.

"I have come here from New Delhi to see snowfall. This is the first time I have seen snow and it is a very good experience for me. We made snowmen and had snow fights," said Nishi, a tourist.

The temperature in Himachal Pradesh has fallen to around 3 degrees.

Snowfall has come as a boon for the tourism and hospitality industry in the state.

Mild snowfall in the higher reaches of the Himalayas and rain in the foothills of the state, including Shimla and Kasauli Districts, has resulted in a sharp drop in temperatures. (ANI)
