AITA increases number of playing weeks next season

New Delhi, Oct 7 (IANS) All India Tennis Association (AITA) will hold 52 weeks of tennis action with increased number of events next year.

 

Bangalore will host the biggest Challenger Tournament in India, a women's event with a prize money of $100,000 in February. Two Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challengers will also be held after the Australian Open.

 

 

In addition to the 52 weeks of international calendar that includes two weeks of Asia Cup for men and women and three weeks of Davis Cup and a week of Fed Cup, tour events like Chennai Open will also be organised in January.

 

 

The other tour events like ATP Bangalore Open, Kingfisher Open and Mumbai Open have not been included in the schedule as AITA is yet to receive confirmation from the organisers.
