Dubai, Dec 27 (ANI): The first India-UAE legal lecture series named 'Legal Empowerment Meet' was held in Dubai with the aim of promoting legal awareness.
The Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) and Musthafa and Almana, International Lawyers, co-hosted the event on Monday to provide information on various legislations introduced in India and the UAE, the Gulf News reports.
Jamal Al Sumaiti, DJI Director-General, and Sanjay Verma, India's Consul General, inaugurated the event that was attended at DJI's premises by tens of legal professionals, mostly Indians and Emiratis.
The programme included high-profile speakers and legal experts such as T. Asaf Ali, Director-General of Prosecution and State Prosecutor from the High Court of Kerala, Justice Ali Shamis Al Madhani of Dubai International Financial Centre's Court and Mustafa Zafeer of Musthafa and Almana.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr Al Sumaiti briefed the audience on the history of the Dubai Judicial Institute and its role in serving the judiciary sector and its members.
He also praised UAE-India relations and stressed the importance of sharing commercial and judicial expertise. (ANI)
