Ajit Singh says Anna has become a political person

New Delhi, Dec 25 (ANI): With Anna Hazare all set to begin his three-day token fast in Mumbai on December 27 to mount pressure on the government over the Lokpal Bill, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh on Sunday hit out at the veteran social activist, saying he has now become a political person.

The Election Commission has announced poll dates for five states in February, which has clashed with preparation and presentation of budget, generally in last week of February, in Parliament.

"Nobody can interfere with the Election Commissions as far as poll dates are concerned. Nobody can change the poll dates. He (Anna Hazare) has become a political person. He was getting massive support as long as his movement was apolitical. Now, he will realise what politics is all about," Singh told the media here.

Hazare will begin his token fast at the MMRDA ground in suburban Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai on December 27 along with the key members of his team Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi against the government's 'weak' Lokpal Bill.

The government introduced the new version of the Lokpal bill in Lok Sabha on Thursday after a lengthy debate during which many parties opposed the introduction of the bill in its current form.

The Union Cabinet had earlier on Tuesday approved the Bill for creation of the Lokpal with Constitutional status.

The fresh Bill allows the Lokpal to oversee investigation of cases referred by it by the CBI. But, the Bill clearly mentions that CBI will continue to be under the government's administrative control. (ANI
