UK based band 'Higher on Maiden' performs at Imphal

Imphal, Dec 18 (ANI): Rock band 'Higher-On-Maiden', the sister band of the legendary metal band 'Iron Maiden' enthralled audiences with heavy music in Imphal, as a part of the Seven Sisters Winter Rock Tour.

 

Avid rock music fans in huge numbers dared the cold weather on Friday as they turned up at the Bheigyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) ground to listen to Higher-on Maiden, the official Iron Maiden tribute band.

 

The rock band's line up consisted of main vocalist Ian Mikensie, Paul Hewiton (guitars) Martin Strickson (Bass), Steve Parry (Guitar and backing vocals) and Steve Bennet (Drums).

 

"It has been incredibly brilliant. I cannot believe just how good the place is. We enjoyed every minute of it," said Strickson.

 

Mickensie performed on Maiden's thrilling tracks like Highway to Hell, Two minutes to Midnight, Fear of the Dark, Phantom of the Opera.

 

The rock show kicked off with the performance local bands before the Higher-On-Maiden stars took on the stage with an electrifying performance.

 

A guitarist, Abhishek Boro said that with the ongoing tour of Higher on Maiden, local music band got an opportunity to show their talents in front of international musicians.

 

The famous international rock band is on a 'rock-tour' of the entire north eastern states in India, organized by Seven Sisters Entertainment Group, New Delhi with an aim to enlighten the promotion of the art of rock music bands established in the region.

 

It would also indirectly promote state tourism, giving an opportunity to local bands to have ties with international musicians. (ANI)
