Police seize ammunition in Rajouri

Rajouri, Dec 17 (ANI): Police seized a cache of ammunition in Rajouri district from Hamid Khan, a resident of Poonch, who was trying to pose as a police informer.

Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, Mohammad Shabbir Chaudhary, said the person had a troubled past and was wanted by the police in several cases, including a possible linkup with militants.

"Hamid Khan is a resident of Bufleyaz, Poonch. He had hired a Scorpio vehicle from Sulgut and had come to Zouri. He stated that he was a source and could offer some recoveries. When a blockade was put up, he abandoned the vehicle and fled. When we searched the car, we found two magazines and thirty-seven rounds of bullets," said Chaudhary.

He further added that they are on the hunt for him and hope to unravel a few possible rackets or tie-ups with militants, once he is caught. (ANI)
