Islamabad, Nov 23 (ANI): Political parties in Pakistan might have given very cautious statements about the whole Memo Gate issue, but all of them are firm that everyone found guilty should be dealt with sternly.

A majority of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leaders termed the memo saga as a conspiracy against their government, but they assured that the PPP-led coalition would carry out an impartial inquiry in the matter. They also insisted that anyone found guilty would be awarded exemplary punishment, The Nation reports.

Law Minister Maula Buksh Chandio said the memo scandal would be clear soon and assured that a thorough probe would be conducted.

Meanwhile, an Awami National Party spokesman has asked everyone to wait and watch what comes out in the inquiry report. He further said it was premature to jump into any conclusion right now.

PML-N spokesman Pervez Rashid said the resignation of Pakistan's Ambassador to the US Hussain Haqqani was not enough, as the real faces should be unveiled.

While others parties like the MQM, the JUI-F and the PML-F gave a cautious view on the issue, saying everybody should wait for the inquiry, the Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI)

spokesman demanded a thorough probe into the matter and stressed on the need forexposing the real faces behind the whole saga.

On Tuesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani accepted Haqqani's resignation and ordered a detailed investigation into the memo issue. (ANI)
