Islamabad, Nov 23 (ANI): US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter has said his country supports the "democratic process in Pakistan", and insisted he is confident that the people in that country will get justice in this issue.
Insisting that the US State Department has been very careful in giving its reaction on the memo scandal, as it is a Pakistani matter, Munter said: "We respect Pakistani institutions to address that matter."
"We are strongly supportive to the democratic process (in Pakistan), the constitution, the rule of law, your country, and the will of Pakistani people to make sure that there will be justice. We support that and see how it will work," The Dawn quoted him, as saying.
On being asked about replacing Pakistan's Ambassador to the US Hussain Haqqani, who has already resigned, Munter said, "We have to wait and see".
On Tuesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani accepted Haqqani's resignation and ordered a detailed investigation into the memo issue. (ANI)
