Johannesburg, Nov.19 (ANI): Proteas fast-bowler Dale Steyn, who claimed four wickets for 64 runs against Australia on Friday, has attributed his team's comeback to some fine bowling that led to the visitors being dismissed for 296 in reply to South Africa's first innings score of 266 in the second Test being played here.
"We brought it back beautifully after lunch when the guys really stepped up," Sports24 quoted Steyn, as saying.
"Every time we bowled a bad ball, it seemed to go for four and we had to get it in the correct areas which we didn't do enough in the first session. We had a chat at lunch and we managed to slow the run-rate down and pull the game back. The bowlers did a great job, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander started it and we created more pressure," added Steyn.
"We were staring down the barrel at 170 for no loss and we needed to get the run rate down. As soon as we did that, we picked up wickets," Steyn said.
Imran Tahir took his first three Test wickets to help clean up the tail and returned figures of three for 55.
On 169 without loss at lunch, the Baggy Greens lost wickets at regular intervals in the afternoon as the South African bowlers looked like a different attack.
Australia has a lead of 30 runs. South Africa faced four balls, without scoring, before bad light stopped play on Friday. (ANI)
