Niamey, Oct 23 (ANI): Former Libyan leader Mummar Gaddafi's intelligence chief Abdallah Senoussi has taken refuge in Niger's extreme north, a senior Nigerien official has said.
Xinhua quoted Bazoum Mohamed, the minister of state in charge of foreign affairs and cooperation, as saying that he had learned that Gaddafi's intelligence chief was seen in the zone bordering both Algeria and Libya.
"The Nigerien government would find nothing inconvenient to conform to international obligations, by handing him over to Interpol if ever he is apprehended on its territory," he added.
An officer of the intelligence service of the army admitted having learned the news given by the minister, but declined to confirm or deny the information on Senoussi's whereabouts.
Wanted by the International Criminal Court, Senoussi is among the 32 high-ranking members of Gaddafi's regime allegedly taking refuge in northern Niger, including Gaddafi's son Seif al-Islam. (ANI)
