Guiyang (China), Oct 2 (Xinhua) At least eight people were reported missing as a boat carrying people back from a wedding party capsized in southwest China's Guizhou province, authorities said Thursday.

The fishing boat capsized on the Yelang lake of Anshun city, an official of the provincial government said.

Rescuers were on the job trying to recover bodies, the official said, adding that no survivors were found.

The passengers of the boat - all villagers - were on their way back home after attending a wedding ceremony in a neighbouring village.

The man-made Yelang lake, stretching 21 sq km, is a famous scenic spot in Guizhou.
