People with a 'sweet tooth' really are 'kinder'

London, Thu, 13 Oct 2011 ANI

London, Oct 13 (ANI): A new study has found people who like tucking into chocolates and other confectionery delights, tend to be kinder, are more likely to do favours for others and help out in the community.

Psychologists found that participants in a study who ate a piece of chocolate were more likely to help a stranger in need than someone who ate a savoury cracker, the Daily Express reported.

In another test, those with a sweet tooth were more likely to volunteer to help clean up their city after it experienced a major flood.

Professor Michael Robinson, who worked on the study at North Dakota State University, said it is now possible to predict how helpful or nice someone is on whether they prefer eating sweet foods.

The research was published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. (ANI)
