Birbhum (WB), Oct 5 (ANI): Reacting to the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) claim of forming the next government in 2014, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said anybody can dream of becoming prime minister in a democracy.
"Anybody can dream of becoming prime minister, so there is nothing wrong in it. Anybody can become a prime minister in a democracy. Any party who gets the majority, its leader will become prime minister," Mukherjee told the media here.
Mukherjee further refused to comment on the so-called ongoing internal war in the BJP over finalisation of the prime ministerial candidate.
"I would not like to comment on this as this is the internal matter of BJP. Who will be the leader and who will not be, is their matter, so let them decide," he said.
Rumours are floating around of a rift between its top party leader Lal Krishna Advani and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who skipped the two-day party's national executive meet meet, over Advani's proposed 'Rath Yatra' beginning October 11. (ANI)
