London, Sep 10(ANI): Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has risked the wrath of his teammates after blaming his barren goal-scoring run on the club's 'very slow' and 'older' players.
Torres has scored just one goal in 21 games since his 50 million pound move from Liverpool in January.
"When I changed clubs, I knew it was going to be a slow process, although I didn't expect it to be so long. Chelsea is, between the English teams, maybe the least English," the Sun quoted Torres, as saying.
"That's because of the kind of player Chelsea has - an older player, who plays very slow, who has a lot of possession - and that's what the club is trying to change now," he added.
It also comes after manager Andre Villas-Boas said that he is willing to axe Torres from his starting line-up should the striker continue to misfire. (ANI)
