LS to discuss Lokpal bill tomorrow: Anna's fast enters day eleven
New Delhi: As noted social activist Anna Hazare’s fast enters day eleven, the government announced on Friday that the Lok Sabha will work on Saturday and different version of Lokpal may be discussed tomorrow.
A statement issued by Lok Sabha Secretariat said, "The Lok Sabha will sit on Saturday (Aug 27) in connection with transaction of essential items of government business."
The debate was likely today but some opposition parties protested it saying that they didn’t get time to prepare as they were informed about the debate at a very short notice.
BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said, "We were informed at 2.15 p.m. that the discussion will start at 2.30 p.m. We have already given notices in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha for the discussion under rules that entail voting,"
Speaking in this regard parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said, "If the debate is under rule 193, if all agree, it can be adopted as a resolution."
