Cathay Pacific oral sex scandal puts marketing slogan on review

Sydney, Aug 15 (ANI): Cathay Pacific is said to be reviewing its slogan "the team who go the extra mile to make you feel special" after two of its crewmembers were snapped having oral sex inside the cockpit of a plane.

The Hong Kong carrier investigated the matter last week after photos were published online of a woman in a red outfit, reportedly its cabin crew uniform, indulging in oral sex with a man, who is claimed to be her boyfriend.

"We are thinking of holding the campaign back for a little while because the timing doesn't suit us at the moment," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted a spokeswoman as saying.

According to reports, the emergence of the sex photos is believed to have compromised the advertising campaign, where cabin crew and staff were set to be featured on billboards and newspaper and magazine slots.

"The timing of this scandal really could not have been worse in marketing terms," a Cathay management source told the Sunday Morning Post.

"The scope for the slogan and the campaign to be misinterpreted, or ridiculed and lampooned, in light of the cockpit incident, is obvious," the source added.

The "extra mile" slogan was launched in 2010. (ANI)
