Arnie's ex-flight attendant files defamation suit over 'lovechild mix-up'

Washington, August 6 (ANI): A former personal flight attendant of Arnold Schwarzenegger has sued a number of news outlets for defamation over claims that she had a child with the former California governor.

Tammy Tousignant and her husband Tom have taken legal action against a handful of news organisations, including National Enquirer and Gawker.com, claiming that the organisations defamed them by making false claims, which began in 2003 and were repeated earlier this year after the actor-turned-politician confessed having an illegitimate lovechild over a decade ago.

"Tanner Tousignant is not the illegitimate son of Arnold Schwarzenegger... The reports regarding the Tousignants are entirely false," Contactmusic quoted documents, filed in Los Angeles as saying.

After Schwarzenegger disclosed about his infidelity in May, several news groups, The National Enquirer being the first, speculated that Tanner might be the lovechild.

It has since become known that Schwarzenegger had an affair with his former housekeeper Mildred Baena.

"Freedom of the press is a valuable right but it is not a license for gossipy tabloids to tar and feather innocent citizens and destroy their reputations for the rags' profit," the documents said.

The couple is reportedly seeking a compensation for the damages "in excess of 10 million dollars". (ANI))
