Punjab varsity vice-chancellor shot, injured

Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab), Aug 1(ANI): Sri Guru Granth Sahib University (SGGSU) Vice Chancellor Dr. Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia was shot at while coming out of the university today.
According to NDTV, Dr. Ahluwalia has been admitted to a nearby hospital.
The SGGSU was launched here on July 25 with the first academic session being inaugurated by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
The university, set up by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), focuses on disseminating philosophy and ideology of the Sikh religion and the Sikh holy book "Granth Sahib".
It also offers professional and vocational courses. (ANI)
