Washington, Fri, 29 Jul 2011 ANI

Washington, July 29 (ANI): The City Council in Aberdeen, Washington, has voted out the possibility of renaming a bridge after the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

Eight citizens along with several council members voiced their opinion against renaming the bridge, which is currently named after pioneer Alexander Young, but unofficially, reports Fox News.

According to KXRO, the votes registered 10:1 ratio against the Cobain rename bid. The audience at the council meeting acknowledged the decision.

Some people didn't want the rock musician to be memorialised because of his drug use, suicide and negative comments about his hometown. (ANI)
