President Patil condoles loss of lives in Mumbai blasts

New Delhi, July 13 (ANI): Expressing grief over the Mumbai serial blasts, President resident Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Wednesday condoled the loss of lives in these blasts.

 

President Patil also wished speedy recovery to those injured in the incident in Mumbai today.

 

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, who chaired a high-level meeting with security and government officials after the blasts, said around ten people have lost their lives and over 54 others have been injured in the blasts.

 

The three blasts took place at Dadar in central Mumbai and Opera House and Zaveri Bazar in south Mumbai.

 

"We have talked to Maharashtra Chief Minister and other security officials. There is no other information on blast at any other place apart from the three places," said Chidambaram.

 

A team of National Investigating Agency (NIA) has been sent to Mumbai for pre and post investigations of the three blasts.

 

All the metropolitan cities including Kolkata, Bangalore and New Delhi have been put on high alert. (ANI)
