New Delhi, July 5 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed the bail plea of former Commonwealth Games (CWG) Organizing Committee (OC) Secretary General Lalit Bhanot in connection with the scam surrounding the 2010 sporting extravaganza.
Justice Mukta Gupta, who dismissed Bhanot's bail plea, said that the court did not find any merit in it.
Bhanot has been accused of favouring a Swiss firm in a contract that led to a loss of over 90 crore rupees to the exchequer.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Bhanot along with another CWG official V.K. Verma on February 23 in connection with alleged irregularities related to the event.
The arrest of the two took place after both were questioned about the Rs 107 crore contract that was awarded to a Swiss time-keeping company. (ANI)
