New Delhi, July 1 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit Forbesganj in Bihar's Araria District on Friday to understand the circumstances that led to the killing of four Muslims in police firing on June 3.
According to reports, Gandhi would land at the IAF airbase in Purnia from New Delhi, and then leave for Forbesganj.
He is also expected to meet senior civil and police officials during his visit.
Forbesganj's Bhajanpura village witnessed a gruesome crackdown on June 3, when police fired on villagers who had demolished a wall on government-acquired land, which they claimed cut off their only road link. A pregnant woman was among those killed.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered a probe into the incident.
The opposition parties had launched a scathing attack on Nitish Kumar and his government after the incident.
LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan has demanded a probe either by the CBI or by a sitting judge of the high court in a time-bound manner into the matter. (ANI)
