Interpol issues 'Red Corner' notice against kidney kingpin

International criminal police organisation, Interpol has issued ‘red corner’ notice to the ever-biggest multimillion kidney racket in India to its mastermind Dr. Amit Kumar (40) and his younger brother Dr. Jeevan Rawat (36) on Friday on the request of Central Bureau of Investigation, India which is currently investigating the case and could not found the key accused after deeply combing in several states of India.

CBI is assuming that both the accused doctors have left the country before Moradabad police have raided in Gurgaon based nursing homes. ‘There are likely to be in either Canada or in Nepal’, suspects the senior police official of CBI in India.

As per so far investigation, police have got several clues that probe towards the international connection with this case. So, CBI has to ask the help of Interpol and urged to it to declare ‘red corner’ notice for both the escapees across the globe.

So far, the police have arrested as much as 10 persons relating to this case, in which police officials have got some strong clues against some of detainees, which strongly indicate to have some connections with this case.

Bulbul Kataria, a former beauty queen and so-called the friend of Dr Amit would go under investigation today, who is under captive of CBI police, when she had claimed in an television interview to have ‘professional’ relationship to Dr Amit, the key man. The police will try to stretch some threads, which connect all the clues and provide some strong and true information of the accused.

Bulbul who claims to be an insurance agent had revealed in a private TV channel interview that Amit had offered her expensive gifts and was ready to help her financially, though she has denied having an affair with him.

Besides Bulbul, Police have also arrested some key persons, who allegedly know the doctors in which Dr K K Agrawal of Rajastan, Linda, a Manipuri nurse, Dr Upendra, a physician, and Pooja, the wife of Dr Jeevan Rawat might be key factor of this case. Police have also arrested the drivers of both the doctors.

Dr K K Agrawal, an anesthetist of Alwar, Rajasthan have accepted under police custody to have professional relationship with Dr Amit and also admitted that ‘several times’ he had assisted them in surgery.

While Linda, who claims, “both the doctors have professional MBBS degree” and she had worked as para-medical staff in many kidney transplant surgeries. Police is also investigating the reality of their ‘degrees’.

Earlier the joint team of Moradabad and Gurgaon police has raided several places in Delhi, Mumbai, Harayana, Rajasthan and Uttrakhand but could not found both the key accused except some clues. Health Minister, on the request of Harayana government handed over the case to CBI, the top central police department of India.

The CBI officials have managed to access the e-mail of Dr Amit that would be proved as ‘vital’ in the investigation.

Health Minister Dr Anbumani Ramadoss has also indicated to amend the ‘organ transplant Act’ sticker to check the future crimes. The government is also thinking about to motivate the general public to donate their organs more gracefully and also about to awarding the donor with handsome amount of cash prize, so that the ‘illegal organ transplant trade’ could be mired.

Police is estimating that ‘this illegal kidney transplant trade’ has crossed over Rs. 100 crore and both the tainted doctors have done nearby 500 surgeries of kidney transplant till now on the basis of so far investigation.
