UK Premier League bosses barely last longer than two years

London, June 11 (ANI): UK Premier League bosses now last an average of just two years at a club, a study has revealed.

The League Managers Association's (LMA) recently released figures showed there were a total of 40 sackings across the 92 League clubs in the last season, up from 36 in the previous year, the Sun reports.

Best example supporting the study is Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked after two years despite leading the club to the Double in 2009-10 and second in the Premier League last season.

League One is the graveyard for managers, with 12 sackings among the 24 clubs, followed by 11 dismissals in League Two and ten in the Championship, the study revealed.

"The turnover of football bosses remains high and, worryingly, tenures also remain low," admitted LMA chairman Richard Bevan.

"Overall, the average time spent at a club among the dismissed managers stands at 1.58 years. Two-thirds of sacked managers this season have gone at below average tenure, dismissed within less than one and a half years of their appointment, said Bevan.

"Half of those sacked went within one year of appointment and nine within six months of appointment," he added. (ANI)
