Guwahati, May 31 (ANI): At least 26 people were killed when a bus carrying a marriage party plunged into a pond at Sorabori near Hajo in Assam's Kamrup District last night.
The bus, carrying around 40 passengers from Guwahati to Dihu in Rangia sub-division of the district, fell into the 40 ft deep pond when a wooden bridge it was crossing gave in.
The dead included the groom and relatives.
So far, six passengers have been rescued and were admitted to a hospital in Nalbari District.
