Washington, May 28 (ANI): US Representative Michele Bachman has said she had a 'calling' to seek the Republican nomination for the 2012 presidential polls, and added that she would announce her bid soon.
"I've had that calling and that tugging on my heart that this is the right thing to do," ABC News quoted the Minnesota congresswoman, as saying.
Bachman also said that she would make her announcement next month in her hometown in Waterloo, Iowa.
She also said that her decision to run for the president would not be influenced by that of any other candidate, especially former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
"I have great respect for governor Palin and I like governor Palin a lot. And I don't see myself as a competitor to governor Palin or to Mitt Romney. I see my competitor, Barack Obama," Bachman said.
"My decision in running is completely unique and independent of any other candidate," she added. (ANI)
