Two killed, 19 injured in suicide blast at Peshawar's CID police station

Peshawar, May 25(ANI): At least two people have been killed and 19 others wounded in a suicide attack on the CID police station at Peshawar.

 

A powerful blast hit the CID police station near Gora Graveyard at University Road in Peshawar on early Wednesday, SAMAA reports.

 

According to preliminary reports, at least two people lost their lives, while 19 people- including 11 police personnel- were injured in the blast.

 

The building has turned into complete debris after the explosion, which was followed by exchange of fire between police and militants.

 

The injured people have been shifted to the Khyber Teaching Hospital, and heavy machinery has been called in to rescue people trapped under the rubble.

 

According to senior provincial minister Bahir Bilour, at least 25 persons were present in the building at the time of explosion, and 7-8 of them are still trapped under the rubble. (ANI)
